Posto il primo grande spettacolo teatrale di Ascanio Celestini, ricavato dalle storie orali della liberazione italiana. Perché possiamo parlare di memoria solo quando abbiamo preso una distanza con la nostra storia, senza però dimenticarla. Proprio come ci insegna Celestini. Il ricordo si sovrappone al racconto, che può finire con il divenire un'invenzione o una sacra reliquia. Come ci suggerisce Celsestini, è bene fare della memoria qualcosa di vivo, ed importante. Soprattutto per quella storia collettiva che ci segna dentro, come un marchio, uno scoglio su cui il nostro presente sbatte sempre, per infrangersi. Come il fascismo e la seconda guerra mondiale. Ma l'Italia è scivolata nella guerra sin a partire dal '99, come se, ormai, la memoria sia mummificata. Senza senso, altro che sacralizzata. Perché oggi mandiamo armi in Iraq, per fermare il nemico religioso. Ormai la guerra è tornata a pieno titolo nelle nostre vite, anche se non vogliamo accorgerci della "novità". Scemi per le prossime guerre.

August 19 is Earth Overshoot Day 2014, marking the date when humanity has exhausted nature’s budget for the year. For the rest of the year, we will maintain our ecological deficit by drawing down local resource stocks and accumulating carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. We will be operating in overshoot.

Just as a bank statement tracks income against expenditures, Global Footprint Network measures humanity’s demand for and supply of natural resources and ecological services. And the data is sobering. Global Footprint Network estimates that approximately every eight months, we demand more renewable resources and C02 sequestration than what the planet can provide for an entire year.

Who knows that more than 51, 2 million of persons are refugees in the world? From 2010 we are in this situation: we have more refugees now than after the Second World War. Who knows it? Only who works as humanitarian worker could know it.

Today is the "world humanitarian day", and it is better to start understanding more about this horrible fact, a poor reality (which is not a reality tv programm...) in a world of wars.

GENEVA, June 20 (UNHCR) – The UN refugee agency reported today on World Refugee Day that the number of refugees, asylum-seekers and internally displaced people worldwide has, for the first time in the post-World War II era, exceeded 50 million people.

UNHCR's annual Global Trends report, which is based on data compiled by governments and non-governmental partner organizations, and from the organization's own records, shows 51.2 million people were forcibly displaced at the end of 2013, fully 6 million more than the 45.2 million reported in 2012.

Hace un ano que encontré este pueblo, que encontré la dignidad en la lucha en tierra colombiana. En este documental se puede ver con claridad. Un ejemplo del coraje necesario para cambiar el mundo. Johan Galtung is a practical philosopher, known as the principal founder of the discipline of peace and conflict studies. He is the most important representant of the philosphy of noviolence which has in Gandhi its most important father. Galtung is known for contributions to mathematics and sociology in the 1950s, political science in the 1960s, economics and history in the 1970s, anthropology and theology in the 1980s. In this field, his most relevant works are: Peace By Peaceful Means: Peace and Conflict, Development and Civilization (1996) and Democracy – Peace – Development (2008, with Paul D. Scott). He founded the Peace Research Institute of Oslo in 1959, serving as its director until 1970, and established the Journal of Peace Research in 1964. In 1969 he was appointed to the world's first chair in peace and conflict studies, at the Univeristy of Oslo. He resigned his professorship in 1977 and has since held professorships at several other universities; in 1993 he had been selected as a Distinguished Professor of Peace Studies at the University of  Hawaii where he taught until 2000. He was awarded the Right Livelihood Award in 1987. His most relavant contribution for the practical phiylosophy is a method for a conflict situation ("the transcend method"), and the idea of a multi scale structure of violence. He uses bouddism as a base for a "political" emancipation. We can consider him as a "new Gandhi", in a contemporary and global society.

Posto una lettera che rende conto di quanto una parte degli ebrei, nel mondo (e anche in Israele), siano a favore di una soluzione del conflitto e gridino, per quanto loro possibile, il loro sdegno verso l'orrore che Israele sta compiendo in nome del "popolo eletto". Quell'egoismo originario che si riproduce in ogni azione militare, e che portò alla nascita dello Stato religioso che i media mainstream continuano a chiamare "democrazia liberale", ma che corrisponde, invece, a qualcosa di ben più mostruoso.

Forse, per riaquisire il senso della realtà, c'è bisogno di ricordare i militari israeliani finiti recentemente in carcere, per disobbedire agli ordini impartiti per sterminare i palestinesi della striscia di Gaza?

Come non ci dovrebbe essere bisogno di ricordare che Israele nasce con un sopruso, e per questo è bene che si riveda alla radice la sua esistenza, sperando che possa nascere un Paese comune, dopo l'orrore. Cosa che assomiglia più ad un miracolo, ma che sarebbe una delle poche opzioni realiste per finire davvero la guerra.

E che i corpi civili di pace non stiano già in Palestina, per fare cessare il massacro, così come il fatto che il movimento pacifista italiano non è riuscito a manifestarsi con la forza necessaria in questa situazione, è solo il segno che siamo assuefatti a questo "film dell'horror", e che non riusciamo più a distinguere la trave dalla pagliuzza, le capre  dai cavoli.

Cosa aspetta l'Onu a inviare corpi civili di pace?! Cosa aspettano le grandi organizzazioni umanitarie a fare altrettanto?!? E le organizzazioni pacifiste?? Perché non si ritrovano intorno ad un tavolo per mettere in piedi un'azione popolare e nonviolenta in grado di arrivare in Israele per cercare di impedire il... leggi tutto ....
